Princess Party

Ashlyn was invited to a Princess birthday party for a close friend. Wow, what a party! They painted their fingernails, put on lip gloss, danced like princesses, and had tea and sandwiches. Ashlyn couldn't stop talking about it.

First Day of Kindergarten

Wow... kindergarten! Today was Ellie's first day. Most people know that Ellie is going to a unique private school that is part- time homeschooling. She goes to school three days a week and then I will homeschool two days. All new material is presented by the teacher and then I will reinforce the concepts on the other days. Her teacher is very organized and gives clear directions on what to cover on those days. I think it would of been a much more emotional day if she was going all day everyday, but it is still hard to believe she is in Kindergarten.
Ellie and I have a tradition that every night I climb into bed with her and we talk. This is when she opens up most to me. I heard a little about school this afternoon but was hoping to get more details tonight. Right when I laid down she said, "I was a little scared this morning because I didn't know what to expect, but I had fun. I had tons of fun. I love school." She went on to tell me all that they did during the day. Sounds like it was a success!

First Day of Preschool

Today was Ashlyn's first day of preschool. She was really excited about going. Before she left she told me she was going to tap one of her new friends on the shoulder and say, "I have a question for you... What is your name? My name is Ashlyn". When I went to pick her up she ran to me and said, "I met two new friends and asked them their names". I asked her what they were and she had a puzzled look on her face and said she forgot but that she would go ask again. We have now talked about Alyssa and Alexa many times today.

Abby's new obsession.... headbands

Lately Abby loves to get into the cupboard where all of the girls headbands are. She sits for long periods of time placing them on top of her head and trying to balance them. She is delighted when I put one on the correct way, but one is not enough.. she always tries to add a couple more.

Build A Bear

Over the weekend I took the girls to Build A Bear. Ashlyn and I went Friday night and Ellie and I on Saturday morning. I had been thinking lately that I would like to start spending more one on one time with each of the girls. Going to Build A Bear definitely won't be the norm, but I thought it would be fun to do once. Eric has taken each of the girls before and he strongly discouraged them from the pink and purple animals and convinced them to get others. I didn't say a word and this is what they ended up with... Alora and Sparkly. We all had a great time and I loved the time alone with each of them.

Getting Close...

Abigail is getting closer to walking. She loves this stroller that her Aunt Jenny, Uncle Erin and cousins got her for her birthday. Of course she has to stop and suck her thumb in the process.

Second Visit from the Tooth Fairy

Ellie lost another tooth last Saturday and now has two missing bottom teeth. She was excited to get another visit from the tooth fairy and this time I did a better job at remembering to play the role. ;) She has another loose one on the top that she is constantly playing with... hopefully it will be awhile before it falls out or when Christmas comes around she'll be singing "All I want for Christmas is my Four Front Teeth".

Reading our way to the Ballpark

This summer the girls participated in the Chandler Library's summer reading program. Every 10 books that the girls read they received a prize with the Grand Prize being tickets to a Diamondbacks game. The girls enjoyed making weekly trips to the library and reading all of the books that we checked out. They were SO excited to go to the ball game. We all had a great time and the D-Backs won!
